Application Requirements
The following application requirements apply for Standard, Transfer, Advanced Standing, and BA-to-MSW Pathway Admission:
- Online Application: Applicants must complete the online application via PSYCAS.
- Application Fee: A nonrefundable application fee ($75) must be paid to complete the application.
- Official Transcripts: Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended are required and should be sent directly to PSYCAS.
- Resume: The resume should list education, work experience, volunteer experience, awards, publications, etc.
- Letters of Recommendation: Letters of recommendation from at least three professional or academic references are required. Please provide letters from individuals who are familiar with the applicant’s ability or potential for rigorous master’s level study. Personal references, such as family, friends, mental health counselors, or informal mentors, will not be accepted. Advanced Standing applicants are encouraged but are not required to include a letter from their baccalaureate social work program field instructor or field faculty liaison.
- Statement of Purpose: The statement of purpose serves as a sample of the applicant's ability to write in an academic and professional manner. It should be no longer than two 1.5-line-spaced pages and should represent the highest quality of expression and scholarship. Points to cover will be stated within the application.
