COUN750 Applied Professional Practice and Issues in CES

This doctoral-level internship course provides students the opportunity to apply counselor education and supervision knowledge and skills in a supervised practical setting. Students will complete supervised experiences, previously approved by their advisor and in accordance with program policy, in the areas of teaching, supervision, research, counseling, and leadership and advocacy. Individualized on-site supervision, course materials, and class discussion focuses on advancing student development. This course integrates current professional issues, critical discussions, and previous curricular learning to promote professional skill development. Priority will be placed on ensuring a breadth of practical experiences to transition towards an autonomous professional counselor educator identity. This course provides group supervision to students in the course and meets the CACREP requirements for the Doctoral Level Internship.
