CLIN651 Community Mental Health
This course covers the history and development of Community Mental Health (CMH), including roles, policies, and service modalities related to CMH. Access and barriers to the continuum of care, and the range of interdisciplinary collaboration is studied with community-based resources. Resilience, wellness and prevention, along with innovations in CMH care are part of the holistic approach to CMH. Advocacy, social justice, and working effectively with diverse populations are centered along with community-based crises, trauma and disaster response. Assessment, record keeping, and documentation specific to CMH agencies are practiced.
