PSYC440 Human Behavior/Interpersonal Effectiveness

This course will examine the factors impacting well-being, such as burnout, engagement, resilience, and psychological safety. Major psychological theories including analytic theories, behavioral, cognitive, humanistic, and biological will be explored and connected to the practical question of the course which is how do we understand human behavior in the context of organizations where interpersonal effectiveness is essential to leadership and personal mastery. Students will be exposed to skills for successfully engaging and leading others (communication, inspiring change (i.e., change management), etc.), as well as skills for personal mastery, self-leadership, and emotional intelligence.
