2026-2027 PAU University Catalog

Message from the President and Provost

 Farouk Dey, PhD, EdS

Welcome to Palo Alto University!

This catalog is an invitation: to explore who we are, what we believe, and what we ask of every member of our community.

Since 1975, PAU has been built on a conviction that has only grown more urgent with time: that understanding how people think, feel, behave, relate, heal, and make meaning is among the most essential work of our era. That conviction drives our degree programs in psychology, counseling, and social work, including our distinctive PAU–Stanford PsyD Consortium. It drives our scholars, whose research expands the frontiers of human understanding. It drives our clinicians, who serve the local community through PAU's teaching clinics while training the next generation of practitioners. And it drives our partnerships with Stanford School of Medicine, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and a broad network of community organizations that extend the reach of behavioral science to people who need it most.

All of this work is grounded in human dignity. We believe communities are healthier when shaped by genuine human understanding, that systems are more equitable when designed with insight into human experience, and that the tools we build serve us best when they serve humanity. This is the future we are working toward. It is the future your presence here helps to build.

We hope you find in these pages more than programs and requirements. We hope you find a community of scholars, clinicians, educators, and learners who share your sense of purpose, and the relationships and opportunities to grow into the leader you are becoming.

The work of human understanding begins here.

With warm regards,

Farouk Dey
